Fyne Homes, in partnership with MacLeod Construction, has started construction on its latest affordable housing development in Lochgilphead.
The new development at Riverside Drive will deliver six energy efficient semi-detached houses for affordable rent.
The three-bedroom family homes are expected to be ready in autumn 2024 and will help to address the critical need for affordable housing in the area.
This is the ninth phase of residential development by Fyne Homes in partnership with MacLeod Construction in the Baddens Farm area of Lochgilphead since 1996.
Fyne Homes’ management committee chair James McMillan and chief executive officer Iona MacPhail attended the groundbreaking of the development by MacLeod Construction.
McMillan said: “It’s brilliant to be here today in Lochgilphead as work begins on Fyne Homes’ new houses.
“We know there is huge demand for housing locally and these houses will help meet housing demand now and for future generations”.
A spokesperson for MacLeod Construction said: “We are delighted to be working with Fyne Homes again on much needed social housing for Lochgilphead.
“Projects like this are so important for our communities, not only to deliver housing but to create local jobs and training opportunities too.”
The design team for the development includes John Peace Associates, Cowal Design, Morham & Brotchie and Macdonald & Cameron.
Fyne Homes thanked the Scottish Government and Argyll and Bute Council for their support for the project.
