A community book sale and soup lunch has raised £400.20 towards a new reading shed in Kilmore.
When BT moved the community’s book swap facility out of the phone kiosk it left the initiative needing a new shelter.
Plans are now under way to buy a new book shed, big enough to store all paperbacks and hardbacks, as well as space for a couple of comfy chairs.
There is also talk about making a little garden area around it.
Saturday’s sale at Kilmore and Kilbride Community Hall was a big success, thanks to everyone who helped and gave support.
