Action packed night in the Oban darts league

It was another action packed night at The Claredon for the Oban District Darts (ODD) League, with 19 players in action on Friday night.

Ron McLean and Andrew Richie faced off in the first quarter-final, but Richie proved too strong for the returning player to win 3-0, with Ian MacArthur also progressing after a 3-1 defeat of Alex McGuire.

They were joined in the semi-finals by Keegan McPhee after the returning veteran defeated Calum Maclean 3-0.

In the last quarter-final, overall league leader Adam Brook battled it out with Leon Smith to win 3-0 in a match where both players threw a 180 each.

This left a competitive round of semi-final action, with Andrew Richie proving too strong for Ian MacArthur, who hit a 171 in a match that the youngster won 4-1.

He was joined in the final by Adam Brook, who defeated Keegan McPhee 4-0 by hitting some impressive doubles.

This meant the final saw a battle between Adam Brook and Andrew Richie for the extra league points, with Brook gaining the upper hand in a 5-2 victory in a match that Richie didn’t make easy.

On the night, Brook hit three 180s, with Ian MacArthur hitting two and Leon Smith grabbing one 180, while Smith and Andrew Richie also secured 180 and 171 checkouts respectively.

Player of the Week was awarded to Andrew Richie for the second consecutive round after a stunning performance saw him finish runner-up on the night.

ODD host its Friday night league rounds in The Claredon, Oban, at 7pm on Fridays.
