Nimble Fingers give helping hand to Guide group

Campbeltown Guide Unit is £500 better off thanks to the generosity of the Nimble Fingers crafting group.

Members of the craft group sold their wares at their September fair at Campbeltown Town Hall, where the theme was ‘carry on camping’.

There were several tables of crafts for visitors to peruse at the September fair.

Ewan O’May’s piping helped to attract many visitors, who were not only able to browse the stalls but also sample some delicious food courtesy of Vikki McAulay in the kitchen.

The lucky winner of the raffle’s £50 first prize was Delilah-Mae Sutherland.

A different local cause is chosen to receive the proceeds from the raffle and tombola-type stalls at each Nimble Fingers craft fair, with the crafters aiming to help smaller organisations that tend not to receive big grants or lottery funding, the most recent beneficiary being Campbeltown Guide Unit.

Ellie Woodburn from the group met with members of the Nimble Fingers group last week where she received a cheque for £500 which will help greatly with running costs.

The next Nimble Fingers craft fair will be held at Argyll Bowling Club on November 25 and the cause being supporting is the parent and toddler group run by childminder Lindsay Ronald.
