Pumpkin picking goodness

A Kintyre photographer has put her skills to good use to host a pumpkin-themed photoshoot in aid of the Mairi Semple Cancer Fund.

Kayleigh McLean snapped more than 70 families as they picked their own pumpkins at The Farm Stall in Bellochantuy last Saturday.

The £400 raised will help the long-standing charity to provide financial aid to Kintyre residents suffering from any type of cancer.

Throughout 2023, Kayleigh has been donating the proceeds from all her photoshoots to the fund, so far raising more than £3,000. She was inspired to help the Kintyre charity because of the cancer battles she and various family members have faced.

She said: “A huge thank you to everyone for supporting me and my hobby that has turned into something far larger than I could have ever imagined.

“I’m absolutely blown away by the amount of people who ask me for photoshoots and so overwhelmed with the amount of support I receive.”

Kayleigh’s photobooth wasn’t the only attraction at the pumpkin patch – there were also tasty treats up for grabs thanks to Kaitlin Hodgson of Heavenly Sweet, as well as fabulous face painting by Iona Reid.

Face painting fun.

And, if you missed out, fear not, as the pumpkin patch will be back open at The Farm Stall tomorrow (Saturday), from 10am to 4pm.

Kayleigh will also be back with her camera to capture more family photos, this time raising funds for a local event for children with additional support needs.
