Loch Frisa cancellations

A technical issue with the MV Loch Frisa and knock on effects to the MV Isle of Mull have cancelled some sailings for today.

CalMac is in the process of contacting all customers who will be affected by the disruption on the Oban to Craignure route.

A bolt has been sheared on the fuel manifold, so the vessel is currently berthed on the main service berth at Craignure and has been removed from service while another bolt is sourced.

Seven sailings were potentially being cancelled. An update for this afternoon is expected soon.

“We are in the process of contacting all customers who will be affected by this disruption. Disrupting a sailing is a decision we do not take lightly because we know it will inconvenience our customers and the communities we serve. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” said a CalMac spokesperson.

As well as a technical reason for the cancellations, there was also a warning that this route  is liable to disruption due to adverse weather.
