Village full of blooms for flower festival

Kilcalmonell Church in Clachan was full of activity as visitors flocked to view the wonderful arrangements on display at the village’s recent flower festival.

The theme was “Poetry” and poems were interpreted in many ingenious ways by the entrants.

“A lot of time and effort had gone into making the interesting array of arrangements and we were indebted to members of Campbeltown Flower Club and the many locals who contributed,” said a spokesperson.

“The festival concluded with Julius Weeks playing music on the keyboard amongst the flowers which was much enjoyed.

“The total raised was £678. We are grateful to everyone who helped and supported our wee church.”
