A proposal to expand the cafe at Eas Mor Ecology Centre, Kildonan, has been approved.
Eas Mor receives more than 30,000 visitors a year and a cafe was opened at the site of the spectacular Arran waterfall earlier this year.
Now the charity Eas Mor Ecology Ltd has been given planning permission by North Ayrshire Council to build three new outdoor seating shelters and additional storage to accommodate its plans.
In a statement to accompany the planning application, architect Alastair Howe stated: “Whilst the café began operation earlier this year, it was on the basis of a change of use of a building originally designed as a reception and storage and thus has significant shortcomings for the use it has been put to.
“These include very limited sheltered seating and inadequate storage. This application seeks consent for structures which address these shortcomings, namely sheltered outdoor seating areas and additional storage.”
