Music school pipe band stage first concert

Pupils from Isle of Arran Music School pipe band staged their first concert last Saturday.

Many hours of practice has paid off for pipe band pupils when they performed at a much lauded and impressive concert in the community theatre at Arran High School.

The uplifting concert, called Horizons, wowed the audience with a wide repertoire of classic and contemporary tunes, including a performance of the Guns N’ Roses classic Sweet Child of Mine.

A music school spokesperson said: “What a fantastic night we had at our Horizons concert. Thank you to everyone who came along.

“An amazing display of talent from our pupils was showcased. A huge well done to Tam Barnes and Scott Figgins for top tuition, inspiring our pupils and putting on such a fabulous show.”

The music school thanked all the event’s sponsors and everyone who donated to the raffles and bought tickets.
