Fundraiser is in the pink

More than 70 people turned out to a bingo and raffle night at The View in Oban to support Pink Ladies Day.

Thanks to a huge effort from Karen Cook, there were more than 35 prizes to raffle off which boosted the evening’s total to more than  £1,200 during the evening – including a generous donation from Mark and Catherine Cain.

Fundraiser Karen is a huge supporter and advocate of The Pink Ladies Day – her late sister Margaret Cain attended the Pink Ladies Day event in 2016 during her battle with breast cancer.

The evening was a wonderful tribute to Margaret, said one of the event’s organisers Nicky Murphy.

“This was our final fundraiser this year after many amazing events, donations and raffles that the people of Oban, Dunoon, Lochgilphead and the surrounding areas have kindly got involved in.

“This bingo night, along with the John MacEachan Golf Memorial Tournament, were two very important Oban-based fundraisers for us this year and we are hugely appreciative,” added Nicky.

The Pink Ladies Day is now in its 10th year and is a wonderful day of pampering, relaxation, fun, food, drink and laughter for women from Argyll who have experienced breast cancer first hand.
