DEATHS
CAMPBELL – Isobel Campbell passed peacefully at home, Druimbhan, North Connel, November 6, 2023, aged 75 years. Dearly loved wife of the late James Campbell, mother to Julie, Caroline and Ian. Gran to Charlie and Craig. Will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Funeral details to be arranged.
MACDOUGALL – Peacefully at Eadar Glinn Care Home, surrounded by her family, on November 5, 2023, in her 97th year, Elsie Forsyth, beloved wife of the late Neil and dear mother to the late Neil, Margaret, Lorna, Patricia and Joan. Mother-in-law to Anne, Mel, Alex, Robert and Paul. Proud granny and great-granny. Sadly missed.
McQUADE – Peacefully in the dedicated care of Balquhidder House Nursing Home in Alexandria on October 31, 2023, Christine née Hill, aged 86 years. Beloved wife of the late Tommy, much-loved mother to Tommy and Allan, mother-in-law to Julie and Alison, grannie to Sean, Niamh and Tommy, sister to John, Donnie and Ann and friend to many. Funeral service at Oban Parish Church on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 12 noon. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Oban & Lorn Dementia Support Group.

DONN – Robert and family would like to thank all relatives and friends for the many kind expressions of sympathy received on our recent sad loss of his wife Christine. Thanks to the community nurses and the ECT team for the care of Christine. Thanks also to Hamish Hoey and Son for their professional handling of the arrangements and thank you to Fr. James for the service at St. Columba’s Cathedral. A big thanks to the Royal Hotel for the purvey. Special thanks for donations for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland, a total of £203.27 was generously donated.
MACMILLAN – Rena, John, Jane and families would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for all who came to pay their respects to Hamish. For cards, phone calls, flowers, and visits. Final collection of £1071.60 for Appin Lunch Club and RSABI.
MACNICOL – Fiona, Katherine, Alison, and family wish to thank all family and friends for their kind expressions of sympathy following Alasdair’s sudden passing. Thanks to all who attended the funeral service and the £600 donations to The Beatson. Thanks is also extended to the medical staff at Oban and Lochgilphead hospitals who looked after dad and latterly the staff at Ashgrove, for their continuing care. Thanks to Rev Dorothy Wallace for an uplifting service and to Sarah, Lucy and all who helped at the hall. Finally, thanks to Roddy and Fiona from Donald MacDonald who went over and above ensuring everything ran smoothly overcoming road closures and collapsing bridges.
PETRIE – The family of the late Allan Petrie wish to thank all that attended Allan’s funeral service. We would also like to thank everyone who sent condolence messages and who donated in Allan’s memory to the Macmillan nurses and Fort William Medical Centre. Special thank you to Dr Wallace, Macmillan nurses and Shona for the lovely flowers.
