Lochaber ten-pin bowling series re-starts

Competitive ten-pin bowling returned to Fort William this week when the Lochaber Bowling Series (LBS) Team League season re-started.

A full house of eight teams registered to take part in the season opener at the Nevis Centre on Monday November 6, with three sides taking full points in the Scratch League.

In first place were the Burnt Ends, with the Fort William British Legion and the Rotary B teams in second and third positions respectively.

The Burnt Ends also finished first in the handicap competition, with the British Legion in second and the Peaky Bowlers in third.

The Alleycats had the highest scratch and handicap team game, with the Peaky Blinders finishing top in the series.

Individuals deserving a mention include Pam Weller for her 195 highest scratch game, with Gus Fraser hot on her heels with a score of 189. This put him just ahead of Toon Brown, who finished on 184 and John Bryne bowled himself into third position with a score of 211 in the handicap, with Pam and Gus holding onto their positions.

Toon is in pole position for the scratch and handicap series, after scoring 358 and 390, putting him ahead of Pam on 324 and Gus, 321). In the handicap, Gus is on 385 and Pam is on 384.
