Hue and Cry wow Tarbert with sell out concert

Scottish pop legends Hue and Cry wowed a sell-out crowd in Tarbert Village Hall on November 4 with an impressive set of classic tracks, chart hits, covers and even a couple of tracks from their new album due in 2024.

The Brothers Kane – Pat and Greg – celebrate 40 years in the music business with a huge UK tour next year, but before that they brought their stripped back set to Tarbert as part of their Piano and Vocal Show UK run.

Pat told a noisy audience: “We are delighted to be in Tarbert, and you are a rowdy bunch” before launching into a hit-laden set, including I Refuse, Looking for Linda, Labour of Love, Violently and Ordinary Angel.

The audience, which included locals and visitors, sang along and enjoyed the new tracks plus a few cheeky covers – as well as one or two tracks the band have not played for a while.

Pat Kane told the Tarbert audience: “You are a rowdy bunch.”

A spokesperson for West Kintyre Promotions CIC said: “It was real thrill for us to bring Pat and Greg to Tarbert, and they did not disappoint.

“Pat Kane’s vocals just get better with age and the new tracks proved that Hue and Cry in 2024 will be very interesting.”

It was a wonderful night in Tarbert from the Scottish pop royalty who have sold more than two million records during their careers.
