Missing man may have travelled to Fort William

Police have appealed for public assistance to trace a man, who may have travelled to the Fort William area after he was reported missing from North Lanarkshire.

Stuart Differ, 51, was reported missing from Auchinloch, near Kirkintilloch on Thursday (November 9), with officers believing he may have travelled to Lochaber on the same day.

He was last seen in the Second Avenue area of Auchinloch and is described as around 5’8ft, medium build and with a shaved head.

When Mr Differ was last seen, he was wearing a distinctive grey hooded zip top, with an orange zip and orange detail on the pockets, black cargo-style trousers and white trainers.

Police have reported that he has access to a grey Land Rover, with the registration number SY11 UNJ that he might have used to drive to the Fort William or Moray areas.

Sergeant Chris Todd said: “Stuart has not been in touch with his family since Thursday afternoon and concerns are growing for his welfare.

“We want to make sure he is safe and well and are asking anyone who has seen Stuart or knows where he might be is asked to get in touch.

“Likewise, if Stuart hears about this appeal I would ask him to make contact with us.”
