High commendation for Kintyre horse-riding business

A Kintyre horse-riding adventure business received high commendation at this year’s Highlands and Islands Thistle Awards.

Wilder Ways, based at Glen Kerran Farm, Southend, was shortlisted in the Best Outdoor or Adventure Experience category and, despite missing out on the main prize, received the highly commended award.

This was one of only two highly commended judges’ awards, something the Wilder Ways team described as “a major deal” for the business that has been offering bespoke horse-riding adventures and holidays in rural Argyll and other parts of western Scotland since 2015.

A team from Wilder Ways, including collaborators and customers, attended last week’s awards ceremony.

A team from Wilder Ways, including collaborators and customers, attended the awards ceremony at Macdonald Drumossie Hotel in Inverness last Friday and were “chuffed” to receive their award in recognition of the hard work that is put into the company and to acknowledge its commitment to the environment, inclusivity and the community.

“We were so proud and excited about this,” said a Nikki Gelati from Wilder Ways. “It was a very high spirited evening.”
