It’s a ‘Bullsaye’ as exhibition returns to Argyll

A top Scottish darts player will return to Argyll next year as a popular West Highland Darts (WHD) exhibition visits Oban and the Isle of Mull.

Following the success of the previous exhibition in August, Alan ‘Soots’ Soutar will be taking part in two nights of packed darts action in May 2024.

The darts ace is bringing his Soots Does ‘Bullsaye’ show to Oban and Tobermory on May 17 and 18 respectively in an extraordinary darts exhibition event.

MC Paul Reid will provide the entertainment at the duplicate of the famous former gameshow Bullseye, with VIP or platinum ticket holders gaining free entry into the draw to play against two other couples.

It is the first time a darts exhibition has taken place on Mull. Around 100 darts enthusiasts welcomed Soutar to last year’s exhibition at The View in Oban.

The popular Soots Does Bullsaye show will be appearing at venues across Scotland and West Highland Darts organiser Ross Tough is delighted it will be coming to Argyll.

“The events have a blend of entertainment and comedy. They are very different to your ‘run of the mill’ darts exhibition,” he said.

“The darts against the professional aspect remains, but the ‘Bullsaye’ game show, which we do halfway through, provides a throwback down memory lane with members of the audience coming up on stage to play Bullseye.

“This is hosted by ‘Jim Bowen’, portrayed by MC Paul Reid, an impressionist who featured on BBC’s Only an Excuse and Sky Sports’ Soccer AM.

“Bringing a darts player like Alan to Oban and Mull can only be beneficial to the area.

“It’s well documented how busy he is with his PDC darts, full-time job as a firefighter, guide dogs volunteering with his partner Amanda and now the “Bullsaye” exhibitions.

“I’m delighted he’s agreed to come to Oban again and also visit Mull for the first time.”

Ross added: ” The shows are proving to be really popular and we are getting terrific feedback, which makes it all worthwhile.

“In a time when the cost of living is taking a grip on households, it’s important we provide a “value for money” evening which will long live in the memory of our guests. If we provide that, we can all go home happy.”

Tickets for the shows in May 2024 went on sale last week, with VIP Tickets and standard tickets still available to purchase from Eventbrite.

The Oban show will again be hosted by The View on Friday May 17 and the Mull Show will take place at Aros Hall in Tobermory on Saturday May 18.
