Air ambulance fundraiser drops in to U3A meeting

A community fundraiser for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) dropped in to this month’s meeting of the U3A’s Kintyre branch.

As usual, the meeting in Campbeltown’s Argyll Arms Hotel on November 2 was ably chaired by Jean Kirk, who introduced members to guest speaker Emma Law.

“That morning, we were all privileged to listen as Emma led us on a wonderful, comprehensive journey about the work of the SCAA,” said one of the group members.

“SCAA, sometimes dubbed ‘The People’s Helicopter’, covers the whole of Scotland, 365 days a year – and is a lifeline to all remote communities.

“And, as those of us listening to Emma that morning knew only too well, here in Campbeltown, we are deeply grateful for the on-going work of this important charity.”

At the end of the talk, the group’s members expressed their warm gratitude to Emma for making the effort to visit and provide them with so much insight into the work of SCAA throughout Scotland.

The Kintyre U3A group meets on the first Thursday of every month at 10.30am in the Argyll Arms Hotel, Campbeltown.
