DEATHS
HAVLIN – Moira Havlin passed away peacefully at home in Kinlochleven on Saturday November 18, 2023 aged 83 years. Much loved wife of the late John Havlin, mum to Iain, Maureen and Michael. Gran to Grant, Brenna and Aidan and great-granny to Jessica, Freya, Ella and Kadi. She will be missed by all who knew her.

MAITLAND – Catriona (Teeny) née Morrison peacefully at home on November 19, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, aged 70 years. Beloved wife of the late James, much loved mum of Marie and Ross, mother-in-law to Jim and Claire, adored granny and loving sister. Funeral at noon on Wednesday, November 29 at Oban Parish Church.

MOUAT– Peacefully at home in Glasgow on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Ann Margaret Mouat (née Holland) formerly of Taynuilt. Wife of the late Harry Mouat, much loved mother of Janette, Harry and Billy, grandmother to Andrew, Jennifer, Michael, David and Emma, and great-grandmother to Luca, Amelia, Faye and Elijah. The funeral service and committal will take place at Muckairn Parish Church, Taynuilt on Monday, November 27 at 11.00 am.

SMELLIE – Matthew James Gemmell Smellie died peacefully at home in North Connel on November 15, 2023, following a short illness. Husband of the late Heather, he sadly leaves behind his partner Kim, daughters Lyndsey and Louise and beloved grandchildren Bella, Kitty, Murray and Matthew. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at St Modan’s Church, Benderloch at 12 noon followed by a burial at Achnaba.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
MACDOUGALL – The family of the late Elsie MacDougall want to thank all relatives and friends for their kind expressions of sympathy in their recent sad bereavement. A heartfelt thanks to Ian and Shiralene at D & A Munn Ltd for their kindness and professional service. Finally, many thanks to Rev Alex MacCallum, for his support and for delivering a very personal service for Mum, and to everyone who attended the funeral service and generously donated the sum of £500.70, in Mum’s memory, which will be shared equally between The Dove Centre and the Senior Soup Group.

MACVICAR – Donald (Moonis). Deirdrie, David, Sean, Linzi and family would like to express our utmost gratitude for all the flowers, cards, text messages, phone calls and visits on the sudden and untimely passing of their beloved husband, dad, brother, son and friend, Donald on November 11. A special thanks to Oban Mountain Rescue Team, the Ambulance Service and Police for their help. Catriona and all at Hoey’s for their professionalism, Amanda at the Argyllshire, Donald and Gemma at Soroba House, Belinda Braithwaite of the Humanist Society Scotland and Gavin MacMillan for his wonderful piping. Special thanks to Carmen Lungu for finding Donald and trying to help. There are too many others who played their part, too many to mention, but you all know who you are. And to all who travelled from near and far to pay their respects to a wonderful man, who loved life. Our hearts are broken, and our lives have forever changed.

SMITH – Elaine would like to thank all family and friends for their messages of support shown to her at the sad loss of Bobby. With special thanks to Hamish Hoey & Son Funeral Directors for their excellent service, to Rev Alex MacCallum for his lovely service and to the Royal Hotel for catering. Finally, thank you to all who attended at the church and cemetery and to all who contributed to the collection which raised £236.22 for Alzheimer Scotland.
SUTHERLAND – Maureen, Laura, Martin and Connor, would like to express our sincere gratitude to our relatives, friends, neighbours and colleagues for their kind expressions of sympathy received by way of cards, flowers, phone calls, messages and visits following the sad loss of Willie. Thanks to ambulance services and doctors at Lorn Medical Centre. Special thanks to Macmillan and nursing staff in Ward B for their kindness and support to us as a family, and who treated Willie with dignity and compassion, we are forever grateful. Thanks also to Sheena Johnston Humanist Celebrant for a beautiful service, Hamish Hoey Funeral Directors and Catriona MacFarlane for their professionalism and compassion shown to us. Finally, thank you to everyone who travelled to the crematorium to pay their final respects, it meant so much. The sum of £474.00 was collected for Macmillan. Thank you.
