Gigha’s Boathouse restaurant wins Good Food Award

Gigha’s Boathouse restaurant has received a coveted Blue Ribbon at the 2023/24 Good Food Awards.

The prestigious awards recognise the hard-working teams who strive for culinary excellence within their field, with different categories for restaurants, cafés, fish and chip shops, takeaways, gastropubs and hotels.

Chosen for their food quality, service and value, Blue Ribbons are bestowed upon those with the highest customer ratings and votes.

The Boathouse, a family-owned seasonal restaurant, was one of only 15 restaurants in Scotland to receive a Good Food Award.

Located metres from the white sand and clear blue water of Ardminish Bay, the restaurant specialises in fresh Scottish seafood and has earned a reputation for offering one of best dining experiences in the area.

Diners can sit at tables on the beach, on a heated decking area or inside the restaurant’s 300-year-old former boathouse building.

“It feels incredible to be recognised for the fantastic work put in by the team at the Boathouse,” said restaurant owner Sam Berry.

“I would like to thank everyone that contributed towards this, it really shows the effort put in behind the scenes in a difficult time for the industry.”

The restaurant will reopen for the 2024 season on Friday March 29.

“We are looking forward to welcoming old and new faces back,” said Sam.
