Good luck for Thistle Awards finals

Melfort House owner Matthew Anderson has brought home a trophy from this year’s Highlands and Island Thistle Awards.

His country house bed & breakfast establishment on the shores of Loch Melfort at Kimelford was regional winner in the B&Bs and guest house category that celebrates businesses going the extra mile to provide a personal memorable and authentic experience.

Seeing as these businesses are at the front line of Scotland’s hospitality reputation and are key to creating visitors’ lasting impressions of Scotland, judges were on the look out for the most outstanding entry.

The win was announced at a gala dinner and awards ceremony at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness earlier this month attended by industry leaders, sponsors and most importantly all the companies short-listed for awards.

Melfort House now goes on to the national final awards ceremony, organised by Visit Scotland. The Thistle Awards have been running for more than 25 years.

Winners of the finals will be revealed at another glitzy ceremony this time at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow tomorrow, December 1.
