Possession of a controlled substance

At 10.15pm on Saturday November 25, at the Lochawe Hotel, Lochawe, police detained a man, aged 30, under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 for the purpose of a search. This revealed he was in possession of herbal cannabis. The man was charged with the offence and a recorded police warning was issued.

Threatening and abusive behaviour/police assault

A woman, aged 43, allegedly become verbally abusive and assaulted several police officers in the execution of their duty within Oban Police Station at 4.30am on Tuesday November 21

The woman was charged with the alleged offences and held in police custody to appear in court.

Assault

Police were called to a report of a male, 31, allegedly acting aggressively and making threats towards members of the public at 8.45pm on Saturday November 25, in Shore Street, Oban.

The man also allegedly assaulted a member of the public and made off from the area. Police traced him and he was arrested and taken to Oban Police Station where he was cautioned and charged. He was released from custody later, with bail conditions to appear at court.

Driving without a licence

At 9.15pm on Saturday November 25, at Queen’s Park Place, Oban, police stopped a vehicle for checks. These revealed that the male driver, 67, allegedly had his driving licence revoked.

The vehicle was seized to prevent further offences being committed and the accused was charged.

Vandalism

A window was smashed at Glenfoot Terrace, Miller Road, Oban, between midnight and 10am on Wednesday November 22.

Assault

A man was allegedly assaulted in Catalina Avenue, Oban, at 8.30pm on Friday November 24.

Domestic abuse

During this past week in the Oban, Lorn and Islands area, Police Scotland received one  report of assault and one report of breach of bail. This has led to one man (bail) and one woman (assault) being arrested, charged and held to be presented before the court.
