Kintyre groups share £73K funding

Almost 40 Kintyre groups and community enterprise companies have received a boost to their funds this year, thanks to Campbeltown Community Windfarm Fund (CCWF).

The charitable organisation set up by Campbeltown Community Council disburses funds received as community benefit from Scottish Power Renewables (SPR) and its Beinn an Tuirc 3 Wind Farm.

The following awards, totalling £72,971.04, were made in 2023: Highland Parish Badminton Club: £600; Kintyre Pipe Band Association: £2,000; West Kintyre Promotions CIC: £500; Dalintober Parent Teacher Association: £3,250; Stewarton Village Hall: £1,800; Campbeltown Lifeboat Station: £1,000; MOK Run committee: £2,000; Monday Senior Citizens Social Club: £1,000; Dunaverty Hall: £1,000; Campbeltown Running Club: £2,000; Campbeltown Christmas Lights: £2,000; St Kiaran’s Episcopal Church: £2,000; Campbeltown Brass Band: £2,000; Campbeltown Sea Cadets: £1,500; Campbeltown Sailing Club: £2,000; Keeping It Local CIC: £1,500; N Grogan (leaflet printing for charity): £800; Kintyre Amateur Swimming Club: £2,000; KADAS (Kintyre Alcohol and Drug Advisory Service): £2,000; James McCorkindale Dancers: £800; Campbeltown and District Juvenile Football Association: £3,800; Kintyre Amenity Trust: £2,950; Kintyre Way: £2,000; Friends of Castlehill: £1,500; Drumlemble Primary Parent Council: £500; Live Argyll Community Learning Team: £2,000; Campbeltown Old Pals: £2,000; Kintyre Seasports: £3,000; Dunaverty Golf Club Junior Section: £800; Campbeltown Community Council: £1,700; Kintyre Recycling Limited: £1,500; Kintyre Fish Protection and Angling Club: £1,500; Preloved to Reloved: £5,000; Live Argyll Active Schools: £1,971.04; Campbeltown Grammar School Parent Council: £3,000; Kintyre Link Club: £1,000; Scottish Community Drama (Kintyre): £1,500; Laggan Opportunity and Amenity Fund: £5,000; Kintyre Songwriters Festival: £500.

A CCWF spokesperson said: “We wish all these groups success with their various projects and advise that a further disbursement of funds will take place in June 2024.

“This will be advertised on our website, www.campbeltowncommunitycouncil.uk, on Facebook and in the Campbeltown Courier nearer the time.”
