Failure to report an accident

Between 1pm and 3.25pm on Sunday December 3, at Tesco Stores, Oban, a parked Ford Kuga was allegedly hit by an unknown vehicle and damaged.

Police are investigating this incident and appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information regarding this matter can contact them on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting reference CR/0418526/23.

Threatening and abusive behaviour/offending on bail

A man, aged 38, was charged with allegedly becoming verbally abusive and making threats towards members of the public at 8.30pm on Friday December 1, at Station Road, Oban.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Fail to provide/fail to comply with preliminary test

At 4.20pm on Sunday December 3, at McKelvie Road, Oban, police had cause to stop a motor vehicle.

Officers allegedly noted a smell of cannabis emanating from the vehicle therefore the driver, aged 34, was required by law to provide a specimen of saliva for analysis. The driver allegedly refused and was arrested for failing to provide this specimen. He was held in custody to appear in court.

Driving without insurance and no MOT

Police checks carried out on a car in George Street, Oban, on Thursday November 30 revealed the woman driver allegedly had no insurance or MOT. The vehicle was seized and the accused was charged. A report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Threatening and abusive behaviour/police assault/offending on bail

At 7.45pm on Monday November 27, at Hynish Crescent, Oban, police received a report of a man, 30, shouting and swearing and acting aggressively. Police traced the man who was arrested for the alleged offence and taken to Oban Police Station.

Whilst in custody, the accused allegedly assaulted officers and had to be restrained. He was charged and held custody in to appear at court.

Domestic abuse

During the past week, in the Oban, Lorn and the Isles area, Police Scotland received one report of domestic Breach of bail. This has led to one person being arrested and subsequently charged.
