Oban Winter Festival has made it into Scotland’s top ten most Instagrammable Christmas events.
The town’s ten-day programme, masterminded by a core of volunteers and supporters, took seventh place in the data poll after research analysed more than 84,000 Instagram posts using location-specific hashtags.
Edinburgh Christmas Market was crowned most Instagram-worthy, with Glasgow Christmas Market ranking second with 5,400 posts.
Oban Winter Festival came seventh, with 762 posts in the analysis by event insurance specialists Protectivity.
A reindeer parade, a winter wellness weekend, and a haggis hurling competition were a few of the festive activities on offer.
BID4Oban chief executive Andrew Spence has congratulated the Winter Festival organisers saying their hard-work secured the event as as “outstanding success” once again bringing in bumper numbers of visitors from out of town, boosting trade for businesses and retailers.
