The iconic show will be broadcast live and worldwide, with Cathy Macdonald and Niall Iain Macdonald hosting what has been described by audiences as the best ceilidh of the year.

As well as Tide Lines, the line up will include the Glenfinnan Ceilidh Band, Rachel Walker, Mischa MacPherson, Darren Maclean, Finlay MacDonald, the Binneas Choir, conducted by John Joe MacNeil and this year’s Mòd Gold Medal winner, Emma ‘Scalpay’ MacLeod.

“There is no doubt that this is one of the absolute highlights of the year on BBC ALBA and we are thrilled to have music from Tide Lines for the first time to take us through to the New Year,” said Fiona MacKenzie, BBC ALBA Executive Producer.

“Fresh from their latest European Tour and Barrowland sell-out, they’ve managed to fit the cèilidh into their schedule which is great news for Cèilidh na Bliadhn’ Ùire fans who will get the opportunity to spend Hogmanay with one of Scotland biggest acts.

“Cèilidh na Bliadhn’ Ùire’s fantastic hosts Cathy and Niall Iain are sure to deliver the very best party and our audiences will be joining in on the fun from wherever in the word they are, via BBC ALBA’s social media channels.”

Produced by BBC Gàidhlig for BBC ALBA, Cèilidh na Bliadhn’ Ùire 2023, will be broadcast on BBC ALBA and BBC Radio nan Gàidheal, and streamed online from 11.30pm on Sunday December 31 2023 at www.bbc.co.uk/alba.  It will also be on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds for 30 days.
