Bullocks sold to 394.6p/kg for the champion ChaX Bullock from D Macrae, Kildavaig to average 291.80p (+46.48p) and heifers sold to 367.8p for the Reserve Champion Heifer also from D Macrae, Kildavaig to average 266.32p (+40.71p). Breeding cattle sold to £1300 for a SimX, incalf heifer from N & E Campbell, Succoth.
This annual event attracted a large following of buyers from near and far which resulted in a buoyant trade with averages levelling out at values well above last year. At the show prior to the sale, Alastair Morrison, Nether Blairmaud, judged the various classes as follows: Bullock Calf – 1 and Overall Champion – Kildavaig; 2 and 3 – Lephinchapel.
