Road improvement works along a section of the A861 route in Lochaber are completed.
The works between Ardgour and Treslaig started on November 3 and have involved the surfacing of additional laybys, resurfacing and other improvement works.
Chairperson of the economy and infrastructure committee, Councillor Ken Gowans said: “The scheme has improved passing opportunities and road carriageway surface condition significantly between Ardgour and Treslaig, and augments works done on other sections of the A861 completed in previous years.
“I’d like to commend everyone involved for all their hard work and their efforts to pull out all stops to ensure all the work could be completed before the Christmas holiday period starts.
“Our local roads team have been working with Breedon Surfacing and Highland Traffic Management to get the work done. Thanks to their efforts the improvements will make a difference to drivers and will allow them more opportunities to safely overtake slow moving traffic.
“Throughout the works the team made every effort to keep disruption to a minimum but I would like to thank the local community and all road users for their patience during the delivery of these works.”
