Highland Hospice has announced the introduction of a new gift card available to purchase, just in time to create the perfect Christmas gift for the eco-conscious shopper.
The Charity Shop Gift Card is a social enterprise , multi-retailer card that can be spent in participating charity shops including Highland Hospice’s 15 charity shops across the Highlands.
The card was developed and launched in partnership with the Charity Retail Association in a bid to provide the more conscious shopper with options to shop more sustainably while supporting the causes that they are most passionate about.
Susan Cooper, Highland Hospice’s commerce manager, said: “The most exciting thing about this development is that we are the first independent Scottish charity to accept and sell the card, and we hope as a result that this will further boost our incredible sales as well as our relationship with our existing loyal customers.”
“The timing of this is absolutely perfect as one of these cards would be the perfect stocking filler for Christmas!”
Operated by a social enterprise group, the Charity Shop Gift Card will attribute a minimum of 65 per cent of their profits to be loaded onto different gift cards. These cards will be distributed to local foodbanks and local councils, providing support during the cost-of-living crisis.
The cards themselves are compostable, and fully recyclable themselves just perfect for the eco-conscious shopper.
“When faced with life-shortening illness, death and bereavement, the people of the Highlands deserve the best possible care and support,” the charity explained. “At Highland Hospice our ambition is to ensure they receive this.”
