Elvin, Pixie and Trixie are three naughty elves who have made themselves at home in New Dunbeg in the run up to Christmas.
The trio are causing mayhem and mischief in the Strang family home, leaving six-year-old Freya, her sister Miya, who is four, and their step-brother Ryan, 11, wondering just what will they get up to next.
Mum Gemma and dad Allan are having great fun with the little folk, assisting in the crazy pranks that are spreading lots of joy, especially for Freya and Miya who are neuro-diverse and have additional needs.
“People think we’re nuts, but we’re just having fun,” said Gemma, who spent hours plastering her kitchen with post-it notes.
“The girls don’t really understand Christmas Day but they love seeing what the elves have been up to. I’m enjoying coming up with mad ideas. I used to be a nursery teacher – I think I’m just a big kid really!”
There is some reasoning behind the tricks though, the post-it notes in the kitchen were part of a colour-coding game and the elves’ cheeky messages have been encouraging Freya to read them out loud.
Parcelling up the contents of the children’s lunchboxes in Christmas wrapping paper, decking the car with balloons and snow painting Elves Rule across its bonnet before the school run are just some of what Elvin, Pixie and Trixie have been busying themselves with.
They have also pretended to have smashed the TV screen with a hammer, wound toilet paper round the Christmas tree and made a zip wire with it, and turned the bath into a mini waterpark for elves and mermaid dolls!
