Members of Dunaverty Golf Club’s Heidbangers group held their final competition of 2023 on Wednesday December 13.
The competition was attended by 28 members and two guests, head greenkeeper Jonathan Barbour and assistant greenkeeper Campbell MacBrayne.
The weather could not have been any better for the event, with sunshine, a pleasant temperature and not a puff of wind.
The players set off knowing the potential for great scores would not only bring great rewards on the day, but contribute towards gaining that championship title.
Impressive scores were expected, but no one was able to change the championship placings which were decided over the whole year, and 49 weeks of play.
The overall champion for 2023 was Neil Brodie with 33 points, closely followed by Danny Halliday on 30 points.
The golf was followed by a wonderful meal in the clubhouse supplied by Moyra Paterson of The Putt Stop, with Moyra and her cheery staff serving up a few refreshments to toast the new champion!
