Trust helps fund children’s parties

Children’s party organisers in Brodick and Lamlash have received a boost with grants from Auchrannie Charitable Trust (ACT).

Organisers of the events in both villages have each received £600 from the trust to assist with the provision of catering as well as buy presents for every child in each village from birth up to those in primary 7.

The Christmas parties are a long standing tradition, however, the population growth and increasing costs have made it increasingly difficult for parents to raise sufficient funds to pay for the running of the events.

Lorna Wylie, a Brodick children’s party volunteer, said: “Rising costs and pressures on disposable income has meant staging the parties has become more difficult. The grant from ACT makes a big difference to our fundraising efforts and helps ensure the youngsters have the party they deserve.”

An ACT spokesperson added: “We are delighted to contribute towards the parties and help ensure all the children in Brodick and Lamlash have a fun festive season.”
