Carols raise hundreds of pounds for dementia support

A concert at Oban Parish Church raised £500 for Oban and Lorn Dementia Support Group.

The money will be used to support families of people diagnosed with dementia.

The support group’s treasurer Fumiko Miller, who organised the event on December 10, said it was “wonderful”.

Both the church’s choir and Oban Gaelic Choir took part.

Singers included Elain MacIness, Mary Mackinnon, Lyle Kennedy, Davy Paterson, Joanie Gavin, Oban Parish Church Choir and members of Oban Gaelic Choir.

A Christmas poem and story was read by Babs MacIntyre, Emily D’Silva, Fumiko Miller and Fin MacCallum.
