Pupils get active in the name of Santa

Campbeltown’s primary pupils got active in the name of Santa before the end of term.

Castlehill’s P2-1 class completed the school’s Santa Dash.

In the weeks leading up to their Christmas break, youngsters from Dalintober Primary School were out and about completing their first Santa Saunter, while pupils from Castlehill Primary School took to the playground for their annual Santa Dash.

Spirits were high as pupils and staff completed Dalintober’s Santa Saunter.

Dalintober’s Santa Saunter was organised jointly by the school and Dalintober Family Partnership.

“As all classes participate in the ‘Daily Mile’, we wanted to do one with a twist!” said head teacher Caroline Armour. “Family members and friends – and dogs! – joined in on the day as we walked a mile across Campbeltown in our Santa hats, with Santa waiting to surprise us at the end!”

Everyone dressed to impress for Dalintober’s Santa Saunter.

She added: “Our thanks to all pupils, staff and all of the wider community who attended and supported the Santa Saunter.

“Our thanks, also, to Dalintober Family Partnership for funding and also to Dawson WAM for their generous donation.

“It was a lovely addition to our school calendar and further strengthened Dalintober’s commitment to our community and to health and wellbeing.”

Following Castlehill’s Santa Dash, a school spokesperson said: “Well done to all of the pupils and staff who took part and a huge thank you to everyone who supported us. There were definitely some red faces at the end!”
