Under 14s receive just rewards for season past

Campbeltown Pupils Youth Under 14s held their annual prize-giving at the end of the season in Campbeltown Bowling Club.

Norman Thomson, manager of the Campbeltown Pupils senior team and Rhys Blair, CDJFA chairman, presented the prizes.

The prize winners were:

Three-a-side competition: Winners, Ryan Johnston, Robert Kerr and Frank Stacey; runners-up, Jack Green, Alexander Semple, Alan Myles and Donald McLean.

Most Improved Player: Rio Arkell.

Clubman of the Year: Taylor Purser.

Top Goalscorer: Rio Arkell (17 goals); runner-up, Ryan Johnston (11 goals).

Player’s Player: Rio Arkell (42 points); runner-up, Ryan Johnston (26 points).

Referee’s Player: Ryan Johnston (40 points); runner-up, Logan Norris (35 points).

Thanks were given to the following match ball sponsors for their generous donations across the season: The Courier Centre, Kintyre Hire, The Kintyre Larder, Killegruer Caravan Site, Dalziel Decorating, Gilchrist Joiners, Campbeltown Tartan Army and Arthur, Anne and Stuart Crossan.

Wee Toon Trends was thanked for its donation of training balls, match balls and voucher to accompany the Players’ Player of the Year award as well as Alasdair Glen and Archie Johnston for the sponsorship of the strips.

Gifts were presented to Norman Thomson as a thank-you for presenting the prizes, Kenny Craig for taking the photos and Yvonne Arkell for arranging the hospitality for home games.

Presented by team captain Ryan Johnston, gifts were also given to coaches Freddy Arkell, Archie Johnston and Robbie Judge as a thank you for their hard work and dedication throughout the season and Karen Johnston for her contribution as team secretary.

The team would like to thank to Campbeltown Bowling Club for the use of the club, Café Bluebell for the buffet and Joe McLean for the entertainment.

The Campbeltown Pupils have now entered their third season in Division 2 of the Glasgow and District Youth Football League competing in the Under 15s age group.
