Members of the 1st Campbeltown Brownie Unit are delighted that the group has resumed its weekly meetings.
Part of the Girlguiding organisation, Brownies is aimed at girls aged seven to 10 and encourages youngsters to work towards achieving a variety of badges across various categories including interest, adventure and skills builders.
Members are encouraged to wear a uniform to show they are part of the Girlguiding family, and to which their badges can be attached.
The Campbeltown unit’s uniforms were purchased with money donated by the Machrihanish Airbase Community Company (MACC) Charitable Giving Fund.
The girls, who meet on Thursday evenings, have said their ‘Promise’ – to do their best, to be true to themselves and develop their beliefs, to serve the King and their community, to help other people and to keep the (Brownie) Guide law – in front of their parents, and have started looking at which badges they would like to work towards.
