Brook on target in latest Oban darts action

There was another competitive night of darts at The Claredon on Friday, with 15 players on the oche for Oban & District Darts (ODD) League’s  fourth round of its fourth season.

Four groups were in action, with the top two players from each group making it through to the quarter finals.

The first quarter final saw David Flanagan extend his unbeaten streak on the night with a 3-2 win over Keegan McPhee.

Lewis McPhee then played out a great battle against Andrew Richie, with the latter prevailing 3-1, before league leader Adam Brook defeated the up-and-coming Alex McGuire 3-0.

In the final quarter final, Kenny Carmichael won the crucial fifth leg with some great darts against Duncan MacMillan to win 3-2 and complete the semi final line-up.

It was Flanagan and Richie up first in the semi-finals, with Flanagan putting in a stunning display to win 3-1. This was followed by a showdown between Brook and a confident Carmichael, with the league leader progressing after some lovely darts.

The scoreline in the final didn’t reflect the tense encounter between the players, with Brook winning 4-0 after a great battle with Flanagan. This cemented Brook’s 10-point lead at the top of the overall table as he didn’t concede a leg on the night.

McGuire and MacMillan both hit 180s on the night, but player of the week went to Flanagan, who was undefeated until the final and threw some impressive darts to get there.

It was announced over the weekend that the ODD Open will return next year on Saturday February 10. Fifty players will take part in the competition which will have a £650 prize fund.
