It was a great start to the two-week October break for 53 youngsters from Campbeltown and Tarbert who signed up for a holiday training camp run by Campbeltown and District Juvenile Football Association (CDJFA).
The young footballers had a fantastic time last week with coaches Lorne McArthur, Rhys Blair, Ryan Shields and youth helper Daniel McEachran.
The coaches also really enjoyed their week, commenting on the children’s behaviour, determination and attitude towards the game, with everyone showing good team spirit and proving to be a pleasure to coach.
The morning sessions covered the 2017-2015 age groups, as well as the under-10 girls, who were all presented with certificates for completing the October holiday camp, printed by Keeping It Local CIC Campbeltown and surrounding areas.
“Well done to Isla from our girls’ section and Jaxon, all the way from Tarbert, for picking up our player of the week awards for being all-rounders, showing good sportsmanship and showing good attitude to the game,” said a CDJFA spokesperson.
The afternoons were for the 2014-2010 age groups and under-12 girls, with the following bagging themselves some prizes: Winners of the famous SRJC Sport Lightning game: game one: Jake, game two: Beau; one-vs-one games: Robert, Riley, Emma, Jake; players of the week for being all rounders, showing good attitude to the game and dedication: Hope, Niamh, Sonny, Sean.
“Well done everyone and thank you for supporting CDJFA,” added the spokesperson. “CDJFA would like to thank Campbeltown Grammar School for the use of the facilities.”
