DONN – Peacefully at home after a long illness on October 13, 2023, Christine, aged 82 years, Arcadia, Drummore Road, Oban. Much loved wife of Robert, mother to John, Margaret, Christine, David and Willie and friend to all. Funeral service on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 10am at St Columba’s Cathedral, Corran Esplanade. All welcome.
KING – It is with deep sadness that the Mull community mourn the loss of Gillian King/Laverty née Knight (born August 9, 1933). She passed away peacefully on September 10, 2023 in Belford Hospital, Fort William. Her memorial/life celebration will be held in Tobermory on October 21, 2023. LAMONT – Peacefully at the Mull and Iona hospital on October 12, 2023 aged 89 years Alasdair MacKinnon Lamont, beloved husband of Mairi McDowall. Funeral service to be held at Bunessan Church on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 12.00 noon thereafter to Balure Cemetery.
MACNICOL – Peacefully at Ashgrove Care Home, Kirn, with his loving wife Fiona, by his side, Alasdair MacNicol, aged 83 Years of Turnalt Farm, Barbreck, Ardfern, (a.k.a. – The Tattie Man). Much loved father of Katherine and Alison, dear father-in-law of Malcolm and Robert and proud grandfather of Alasdair. A much loved brother, uncle and cousin to all the family. Funeral service will be held in Craignish Village Hall, Ardfern on Friday, October 27 at 11am, thereafter to Kilvaree Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to the Beatson Cancer Charity.
O’CONNOR – Passed away peacefully on October 7, 2023, embraced by her loving family. Cathy aged 68 years, loving wife to the late Frank, devoted mother, mother-in-law, granny and friend to many. She will be sorely missed. Funeral service to be held at 11 am on Monday, October 23, at the Church of Scotland, Dunvegan, thereafter a service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, October 24 at Inverness Crematorium.
SMITH – Suddenly at home on Friday, September 29, 2023, aged 67, David William Smith, dearly loved husband of Moira, loving dad of Mark and Kevin, much loved by Nicole, Luna and Stella. Also missed by all the extended family. A celebration of life for Davy will take place at the Argyllshire gathering halls, Oban on Thursday, October 26 at 12.00 noon. No funeral colours please, Davy would have hated that! All friends are respectfully invited to attend. No flowers, thank you. WILSON – Peacefully at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban on October 9, 2023, aged 92, Lily née Duncan, beloved wife of the late John, a much loved mum, granny and great-granny. Sorely missed.

MCKAY – (Inverness) – The family of the late Rae Margaret McKay wish to thank all relatives and friends for their kind expressions of sympathy in their recent sad bereavement. Thanks is also extended to the doctors at Kingsmills Medical Practice and the medical staff at Raigmore Hospital. Special thanks to the carers at Castle Care, the NHS and Community Nurses for their dedication and friendship to Rae. Thanks to all who attended the funeral service and generously donated the sum of £391.40 in Rae’s memory for Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie. Special thanks also to Mrs Glynis Woodhead for her uplifting funeral service and to Rev. Rory MacLeod for his comforting service at Rae’s burial at Broadford Cemetery, Skye. Thanks to the organist, Mr Gordon Tocher, for his choice and rendering of the background music which would have been much appreciated by Rae.
