Ardrishaig skydiver Zach raises £1,500 for public hall

An 18-year-old has completed a skydive to raise £1,500 to help buy a sound system for Ardrishaig Public Hall.

Zach Campbell said he did the skydive near Blackpool when he was away for the weekend.

“I’ve wanted to do a skydive for quite a while now,” said Zach.

“So I thought I would do it when I was away for the weekend at Blackpool.”

Zach said he was slightly nervous before the plane took off but his nerves calmed down once he was on board.

“I was fine once I was on the plane,” he said.

Asked to describe the experience once he had jumped out of the plane, Zach said: “It was nerve-wracking…that’s probably the best way to describe it.

“For me, the freefall bit was the best. I would definitely recommend doing it.”

Zach’s mum Lorraine said she was “extremely” proud of her son.

“It’s a lot of money. He did extremely well.

“The public hall is holding more and more events – and he raised the money so they could have their own fixed sound system.”
