Lewis and Harris Sports Council name change

Lewis and Harris Sports Council members decided to re-name to ClubSport Lewis and Harris at their annual general meeting (AGM) on Tuesday October 3.

After 23 years as the Lewis and Harris Sports Council, the name change was proposed at the August executive meeting to fall in line with the national body Scottish ClubSport.

Liz Rogers, ClubSport Lewis and Harris Sports chairperson, said: “This was not an easy decision to make but we felt as a committee it was time to take the next step and move forward in line with Scottish ClubSport vision.”

The main element to renaming will be to rebrand the name on all documents, social media, website and promotional items. It is hoped the new ClubSport Lewis and Harris logo will be in place by the end of the year, if not sooner.

Charlie Nicolson, ClubSport Lewis and Harris honorary president, said: “We hope the new name will allow us to make new partnerships locally, nationally and internationally. We feel this will help with our aim to develop and increase our local sports clubs and athletes.”

ClubSport Lewis and Harris look forward to supporting the future of sport in Lewis and Harris.

The Lewis and Harris Sports Council AGM was held in the Council Chambers with representatives from clubs and organisations across the islands in attendance.

Following the AGM, this year’s Sport Awards were presented as follows:
