Pupils step into new school term

Pupils from Dalintober Primary School have entered the new school term on the right foot, thanks to the school’s new ‘walking taxi’ initiative.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, children can join staff members Caroline Armour, Rhona O’May, Claire Mitchell and Tracy Brogan to walk to school via one of four different routes.

Miss Armour, the school’s head teacher, said: “The main focus of the initiative is to promote positive attendance and time-keeping, support busy family mornings and encourage physical activity.”

In a bid to achieve the same aims, with boosting social interaction and healthy eating in place of encouraging physical activity, the school is also continuing to hold its breakfast club this term.

Pupils across Argyll and Bute returned to school on Monday following the two-week October break.
