Hallowe’en fun at the pumpkin patch

There was a late change of venue for the annual Pumpkin Patch at the Park in Whiting Bay but that did not stop any of the Hallowe’en fun.

With Sandbraes Park waterlogged and the village hall unavailable the hall and grounds of Whiting Bay Church became the 11th hour home of the Pumpkin Patch where youngsters could pick their favourite to be carved for Hallowe’en.

The event attracted a large crowd of families who enjoyed a range of attractions. Another big hit with the children was the chance to toast giant marshmallows round a camp fire. The burger stand also did a roaring trade.

In the hall there was hot chocolate for sale; sweetie stall; delicious home baking; teddy bear tombola; chocolate tombola; costume swap shop; face painting; games; apple dooking, raffle and an auction.

Organised by Whiting Bay Parent Council the event raises money for school funds.
