Springbank Distillers enjoyed a triple taste of success on Saturday November 4 when they won three of the nine accolades on offer in the Online Scotch Whisky Awards (OSWAs).
The Campbeltown-based outfit lifted the titles of
• Best Distillery
• Best Blended Malt for Campbeltown Loch
• Best Single Malt for Springbank 10
David Allen, director of sales and marketing at Springbank Distillers, said: “We are delighted to have won all three categories in which we were nominated.
“We have always held the belief that our whisky and the way it’s made makes us stand out in what is an increasingly competitive industry.
“To have this recognised at arguably the most transparent and impartial industry awards is testament to our philosophy and Mr Wright’s legacy.”
Sixty-five contributors from the web, YouTube, social channels, retail, podcasting, licensed trade, writers, and reviewers collaborated to define the list of nominees for each of the OSWAs nine categories between August and September 2023.
From September 23 to October 22, the nominee list was put up for public voting.
The category winners were announced live on the Aqvavitae YouTube channel, with stats and People’s Choice Top 10 lists also being shared to celebrate the best in whisky.
“Of the three awards, Best Distillery is the jewel in the crown as it recognises the collective contribution of every single one of our employees, without whom such an accolade would not be possible,” added David.
“Within the context of the Scotch Whisky industry, we are a small producer, but our footprint and influence is truly global.”
As is tradition, Springbank staff got together in their Washback Bar to tune into the awards and to celebrate their wins.
