An Introduction to the Cameron of Lochiel collection

After the success of the Lochaber Archive Centre’s very first ‘Archive Afternoon’ in October at which former head of planning Ken Johnston delivered his talk on the history of the Charles Kennedy Building, focus now turns to the next event.

Upon receiving the sad news of the passing of Donald Cameron of Lochiel, CVO, DL, 27th Chief of the Clan Cameron, organisers felt it would be fitting that the next Archive Afternoon be an introduction to their fantastic Cameron of Lochiel collection as a way of paying tribute.

On Wednesday November 22 members of the community are invited along to a curated display of some of the collection’s highlights.

To allow for maximum space there will be no talk on this occasion.

However, Rory Green, trainee archivist at the Lochaber Archive Centre, will be delivering a short introduction to the collection to kick things off and will be on-hand throughout to answer any questions.

The event runs from 2.30-4.30pm. There is no need to book and entry is free. However, as the Lochaber Archive Centre is a charity, any donations are most welcome.

“I hope to see you all here on the 22nd,” said Rory.
