Man jailed for sex offences on the Isle of Lewis

A 54-year-old man has been jailed for six years for serious sexual offences on the Isle of Lewis between March 2020 and February 2021.

Sinclair Leahy was arrested and charged on Tuesday February 9 2021 before being found guilty of a series of serious sexual offences against women at the High Court at Edinburgh on Monday October 16.

Leahy was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on Friday November 24.

Detective Sergeant Daniel Smith said: “Leahy will now face the consequences of his deplorable behaviour.

“Police Scotland is committed to tackling sexual offences to ensure the safety of individuals and communities.

“We are determined to bring sexual offenders to justice.

“We treat all sexual crime with the utmost seriousness and encourage anyone who has been the victim of sexual offending to come forward where they will be supported by specially trained officers.”
