John McPhee secures 2024 WorldSSP deal

Oban’s John McPhee will return to the WorldSSP Championship for the
2024 season after securing a deal with experienced outfit WRP Wepol
who will be running Triumph STR765 RS bikes.

John, a mainstay and four-time race winner in the Moto3 World Championship, embarked on a change of discipline for 2023 after switching to WorldSSP, initially with Vince64 by Puccetti Kawasaki before a late season move to D34G Racing.

McPhee made an eye-catching start to life in WorldSSP this year with a podium finish in the wet on his debut aboard the Kawasaki ZX-6R, but struggled for results in dry conditions.
After parting ways with the Italian outfit towards the end of the year, McPhee made two appearances as a substitute with ex-works Ducati rider Davide Giugliano’s D34G Racing team, achieving points’ finishes prior to the return of regular rider Oli Bayliss.

For 2024, however, McPhee will link up with Polish outfit WRP Wepol – better known for its exploits in the Endurance World Championship but it is mounting another attempt on the WorldSSP Championship in 2024.
