Cancer charity gives back to Lights Fund

The Mairi Semple Christmas Lights Walk was well attended on Sunday evening.

Local horses and pipers led the walk which went from the Campbeltown ferry terminal towards the Co-op and back.

Santa, Christmas Tree and Elf.

Many dressed up with festive hats and lights. The horses in particular looked amazing while Santa, Christmas Tree and Elf also join the parade.

The walk took less than one hour and children received hot chocolate packages at the end to take home and warm them up.

The walk raised over £500 for the Mairi Semple Fund, part of which is going to the Christmas Lights committee.

Mairi Semple Cancer Fund volunteers thanked Campbeltown Christmas Lights.

“Without them, our town wouldn’t be lit up beautifully at this time of year,” they said.

“Also thanks to Campbeltown Police for leading the walk and keeping everyone safe, the two Hannah’s who did a great job of piping us round and to the Ralston family for their fantastic horses.

“It was lovely to see so many people enjoying being out under the Christmas lights.”

Santa was a busy man last weekend. Last Saturday he did another round of the town on his sleigh for Campbeltown Christmas Lights. Much to the delight of all in attendance. Photograph: Kenny Craig.
