Lochaber junior cross country running success at Forres

In the third North cross country running league race at Forres Lochaber youngsters again ran well to represent the area.

Aaron Tresidder in the under-13 race ran strongly after a fast start round the hilly undulating course in the forest to take a third successive win in the league.

This follows from his North district win in the championships the previous week.

Lily Cant in the same age group was second against tough competition.

In the under-11 races, Carys Rodgers started well and was 10th.

In the under-15 races Isla Cant was fifth in her highest placing of the year, while David Rodgers was fourth and also his best race of the year.

Meanwhile the Lochaber senior women’s team were fifth team, with good running from Isla Mackay in sixth place, backed by Charlotte Cant 18th, Anita Maclean in her first cross country race which she obviously enjoyed, and Helen Rennard.

Several Lochaber juniors have been selected to run for North District in the inter district championships at Renfrew in January.
