School musicians bring festive cheer to church

Before finishing up for their Christmas break, singers and musicians from Campbeltown Grammar School brought some extra festive cheer to a Campbeltown church.

Singers Hannah Gilchrist, Brooke Coffield, Isla Anderson and Keira McSporran.

Reverend Steven Sass invited Campbeltown Grammar School music teacher Megan Anderson and some of the school’s finest singers and musicians to one of Campbeltown Parish Church’s recent Sunday services.

Flautists Taylor McMillan and Cara McFadzean, tenor horn player Mae Barr and vocal group members Brooke Coffield, Hannah Gilchrist, Isla Anderson and Keira McSporran, all accompanied by Mrs Anderson on the piano, performed a selection of tunes for the congregation.

“The aim is for it to become a relatively regular thing,” said Mrs Anderson, “enhancing the performing platform and bridging the gap of music in church, allowing young performers a comfortable space to play their instruments.”
